Three, the main types
PC dual power switch:
The structure is relatively simple, it can directly carry and turn on and break two power supplies, does not have short circuit protection function, but has a high switching speed, generally can be completed between tens of milliseconds to hundreds of milliseconds switching, suitable for high switching speed requirements, short circuit protection can be borne by the upper level circuit breaker occasions, such as some important communication room, data center and so on.
For example, in a small communication base station, in order to ensure the continuous power supply of communication equipment, the PC-level dual power switch is used to quickly switch to the standby diesel generator power when the mains power is cut off.
CB class dual power switch:
Composed of circuit breakers and electric operating mechanisms, with short circuit protection function, while switching power supply can also play a protective role in the short circuit fault of the line, but its switching speed is slower than the PC level, usually in a few seconds or so, often used in both the need for power switching and need to have their own short circuit protection ability. Like some shopping malls, hospitals part of the electrical equipment power supply lines.
For example, in the operating room power supply line of the hospital, the CB double power switch can be switched to the emergency power supply when the mains fails, and the circuit can be cut off in time if the short circuit occurs to ensure the safety of electricity consumption.
