Working principle

Electromagnetic relay: When the coil is energized, an electromagnetic suction force is generated to attract the armature, which makes the normally closed touchpoint open and the normally open touchpoint closed; when the coil is powered off, the electromagnetic suction force disappears, and the armature is reset under the action of the reaction spring, and the touchpoint state is restored.

Solid state relay: using isolation devices to achieve electrical isolation of input and output, and completing the switching function of input and output through electronic components, suitable for AC and DC loads.

According to the working principle, electromagnetic relays use the phenomenon of magnetic force generation and disappearance of electromagnets under power-on and power-off to control the opening and closing of another circuit with high voltage and high current; solid-state relays refer to relays where electronic components perform their functions without mechanical moving components, with input and output isolation; as well as temperature relays, reed relays, time relays, high-frequency relays, polarization relays, etc.

According to the external dimensions: there are micro relays (the longest side size is not more than 10 mm), ultra-small micro relays (the longest side size is more than 10 mm, but not more than 25 mm), and small micro relays (the longest side size is more than 25 mm, but not more than 50 mm).

According to the load: micro power relay, weak power relay, medium power relay, high power relay.

According to the protection characteristics: the sealed relay uses welding or other methods to seal the touchpoint and coil in the cover; the closed relay uses the cover to seal the touchpoint and coil to protect; the open relay does not use the protective cover to protect the electric shock and coil.
